Lindsey Kane Ministries exists to bring glory to God and passion to people.

disclaimer: normally i really dislike writing about myself, because it seems so "all about me" - but for the purposes of informing website visitors who are interested in knowing about LKM, i've included a bio and a personal note.

“Until you have given up your self to Him you will not have a real self..."

Lindsey Kane has learned this reality and taken it to heart. As you listen to the words of her songs, it is amazing how many of them might just relate to seasons of your own life. She is a gifted song writer, worship leader, singer and musician who has a knack for getting straight to the heart of the matter in an engaging and compelling way.

Lindsey loves life and she loves people. God has placed in her heart a desire to make others feel special and loved by God. One of the ways she has done that was through her “Measure of Beauty” campaign. God gave her the words and music to this song in college and she has had the privilege of sharing it with thousands of people as God has opened the door through different venues to share His words for true beauty. Lindsey says, “The reason I am so passionate about this is because I know what it’s like to struggle throughout the day and doubt who you have been created to be. I pray that God will remind you that He has formed you in His image.” The words from the song “Measure of Beauty” are directly from scripture – Psalm 45:11, Psalm 139:14, and Song of Solomon 4:7 – and so Lindsey is absolutely confident of the message God has for his children, especially Daddy’s little girls.

Lindsey’s sound and overall ministry is unique and Christ-centered. It is a mixture of soft intimate vocals on the piano and gritty raw vocals on the guitar with an acoustic pop/rock feel. It’s unlike anything you’ve ever heard before. While watching her live, whether she is leading worship or sharing original music, you are captivated by the purity of her heart and her boldness to speak truth as she communicates with authenticity. Her humor wraps it all together in a package that engages the audience and helps them to feel like they are a part of every song. The wisdom she shares is beyond her 27 years – she is incredibly anointed. Of the songs she writes, Lindsey says, “God inspires all of my music and I believe that He gives me all the songs. I love traveling all across the United States with the message of bringing glory to God and passion to people. I think we were created to bring glory to God, so I’m trying to do that through music.”

Lindsey Kane’s goal is to bring glory to God and passion to people speficially through ministry events, leading worship, and speaking at all different kinds of events across the country and even the world. She hopes to challenge worshippers to worship in Spirit and in Truth, as God desires. Lindsey says, “God has given me a deep passion to lead people in worship to His throneroom, past the outer courts and into the Holy of Holies. He is there waiting for His children to lift their voices to Him in authentic worship.”

Lindsey began her relationship with Jesus at the age of 8 when she asked Him to be her Lord and Savior. She has been learning to walk with Him and let Him live within her and minister through her ever since. Lindsey says, “I am in love with my Savior and Lord Jesus. I was created to worship Him everyday. By His grace, He has given me the passion of worshipping Him through song. Though I'm the last person that should be in ministry, I love it. In fact, all believers are in full-time ministry because we should always be sharing the good news about who Jesus is and how huge His love is for everyone.”

LK's main passions: love God. love people. Without an agenda and without condition.

She grew up in Midland, Texas but moved to Austin, Texas with her family when she was a junior in High School. It was one summer after that move in 1998 that she decided to teach herself how to play the guitar. Within one week of learning, she wrote her first song. She started playing guitar and learning the typical praise and worship chords. She kept writing songs and playing local coffee houses as God opened doors. She smiles as she thinks on the days when she sang on praise and worship teams to “…try and get beyond my fear of singing in front of people. Now I'm totally comfortable up there. God has quite the sense of humor.”

After high school, Lindsey left Austin to attend college at Texas A&M University where she graduated with a degree in History in 2004. It was there during her Sophomore year that she heard God’s call to full-time ministry while laying on the floor of a hotel room in North Carolina. While finishing her college education where she studied to be a high school history teacher and coach, God opened the door for her to begin singing, playing and performing almost every weekend around the great state of Texas. And once she graduated in December 2004, she accepted God’s call and took the leap of faith to jump into full-time ministry. Lindsey has had the opportunity to sing, teach, and/or lead worship at conferences, retreats, seminars, events and camps for men and women of all ages all across the country for the past 4 years. Currently, Lindsey is not traveling anymore in an official ministry capacity (see home page). During this transitional time, Lindsey is involved in undercover ministry, working for a restaurant. Her goal is to continue to spread the love of Christ no matter what the venue or job title. In addition to music, LK has a passion for overseas missions and caring for the poor and oppressed. She wants her life to be about James 1:27 that says that pure and undefiled worship/religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: caring for/visiting orphans and widows in their times of distress.

Lindsey recorded her first album in 2000 titled "These Times With You" and then a second album in 2002 titled "Invisible Me." The third album was recorded by David Parker at Soundtown Digital Studios and the title track was "Satisfied" which appeared on KLTY's top 50 songs of 2004. That record was released in 2003 and is available for purchase on itunes and also through the webstore. LK's fifth album, titled "Move Me Aside" was recorded in 2006 at Studio M and that is also available on itunes or this webstore. The latest project, and most exciting of them all was just released in 2009 and is titled "You'll Be Whole." Check it out on itunes or myspace.com/lindseykane2 - happy listening!

Lindsey supports Compassion International. She is dedicated to being a voice for the voiceless, sharing her story of how Compassion has personally impacted her life and ministry. Lindsey has 3 sponsored children who all live in Kenya. Their names are Brian, Clare, and Sareth. Ever since reading and connecting with James 1:27, Lindsey's ministry has developed into one with a deep passion for ministering to the people Jesus deeply loved. The verse reads, "Pure and undefiled worship [religion] in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit and care for orphans and widows in their time of need." Though Lindsey isn't traveling in the same capacity that she has been for the past 9 years, she continues to pour into ministries who help the "least of these" (matthew 25) For more information on Compassion, please visit www.compassion.com

A Note from Lindsey:

Hey website visitors. Like i said, I dont like writing about myself. It's very ego-centric. But a website with no words isn't exactly helpful. So, thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy what you find here on this here website. I'm glad you're here. I wanted to write something a little more personal so you all could really get to know the gal behind the music. Here's my story in a very small nutshell. My name is lindsey and i love life, Jesus, music, and people. i rarely use capital letters or perfect punctuation. i'm imperfect and i'm a recovering sinner whose life has been transformed by grace. i want to be a Christ-follower and not just a christian. someone once said, we dont need more christians. we need more Christ-followers. i try to live in the moment, not dwelling on the past, and not worrying about the future. enjoying this present moment God has given me, but also being mindful of learning from the past and planning for the future.

one summer after we moved to austin, i was bored (because i was bored and the basketball gym was closed) so... i resolved to teach myself how to play the guitar. within one week of doing so, i wrote my first song. well, actually, i wrote my first song when i was 8 but i don't really count that. anyway, i started playing guitar and learning the typical praise and worship chords. i kept writing songs and playing in really small coffee houses and such. i sang on alot of praise and worship teams, trying to get out of my complex of being scared to sing in front of people. and now i do it for a living! God has quite the sense of humor. but at this time, singing and leading worship was only a hobby.

i went to school at texas a&m and kept writing, singing, playing, and performing. pretty soon (and because only God could do it) i was booked every weekend singing around the state and trying to study in the car on the way to ministry events. the summer of 2002 while i was recording my second CD, God officially called me into full-time ministry. I never thought it possible, but it really happened and God spoke so clearly to my heart. So, when i graduated in december of 2004 with a degree in History (along with a teaching degree and coaching minor) I took a leap of faith and went out on my own to try and do music full-time. God totally provided. ever since i felt "called" into full-time ministry when i was a sophomore in college, i couldn't wait to pursue music full time. i stepped out of the proverbial boat, so to speak and God has blessed me and sustained me ever since. He inspires all my music and i believe that He gives me all the songs. there's nothing like pursuing a dream, fulfilling a calling, and by the grace of God making a living all at the same time.

God has inspired over 100 songs since i started and He continues to give me songs. I consider myself a song-waiter, and not a song-writer. I wait, and God gives me the songs. It works well! i'll try to post lyrics as i write them, to my blog page. to check out my personal blog, please visit lindseykane.blogspot.com

so anyway, what else? i play the guitar, piano, drums, and harmonica. i occasionally play the air guitar when no one's looking and when i'm listening to avril. if you want to know anything else, i'd love to tell you. i love getting to know people and i love loving people! so, let's be friends :)

i love Jesus because He first loved me. my music is a way i can worship Him. i asked Jesus to come be my Lord and Saviour when i was 8 and i've been trying to let Him live through me ever since. my music is guitar and piano driven and passionate, dripping with anointing. i can only boast in the cross for that is the only reason i am able to sing. i know that all that is good within me is Jesus. He is the reason i sing. He is the one who inspires the songs. my desire is to worship Him in spirit and in truth with my music, ministry, and life. for His glory.

to God be the glory, great things He has done. He saved a wretch like me, and continues to save me everyday from myself. i'm learning to let go of my preconceived notions about God and faith. i'm learning to let go of my identity and i'm learning to find myself only in Him. life is hard, but God is Hope. and He's the best, more than enough.

i pray you find encouragement today on this website, the blog, or in the music. God is for you and He loves and adores you more than you could ever possibly imagine.
